I hope it will help you....
the tendency of a body to oppose any change in its state of rest or uniform motion is called interia of the body.we tell the Newton first law as the law of inertia because from Newton first law it is clear that a body is unable to change its state of rest or motion by itself so Inertia is the inherent property of all the object does Newton first law of motion is also known as the law of inertia ...

The proprlerty of a substance to resist in state of rest or motion is known as interia. We can say newton's first law as law of interia because first law states that any object can't change its state of rest or motion until or unless any external force is applied.
