it is also known as acoustic intensity is defined as power carried per sound waves per unit is directly perpendicular to to that area

Intensity of sound is the energy conveyed by it per metre square...it is measured in unit Watt per square metre or W/m².
Actually loudness and intensity of sound are complementary and supplementary to each other...however, loudness is a subjective property (depends on person's ear-power) but intensity is objective property..
