Intensive farming or intensive agriculture is a kind of agriculture where a lot of money and labour are used to increase the yield that can be obtained per area of land. The use of large amounts of pesticides for crops, and of medication for animal stocks is common. This is a contrast to traditional agriculture, which does not get as much output per area. When agriculture is intensified, this means that the amount of work needed goes up, until the worker is replaced by a machine. At that point, there will only need to be a few workers to operate the machines. Intensive farming has often been done as a response to rising population levels. It is criticised, because the standards of animal welfare are low.[1]Intensive animal farming leads to increased pollution and to health issues.[2][3]

Modern day forms of intensive crop based agriculture involve the use of mechanical ploughing, chemical fertilizers, plant growth regulators or pesticides. It is associated with the increasing use of agricultural mechanization, which have enabled a substantial increase in production, yet have also dramatically increased environmental pollution by increasing erosion and poisoning water with agricultural chemicals.Intensive agriculture is called oriental agriculture.Example rice monoculture

The deep (or 'factory') farming is the polar opposite of organic. While the quality of organic farms is concentrated, the intensive farming volume is about: Its goal is to target maximum yield at the lowest cost. The methods required to achieve this may be harmful.

The smallest number of animals in the factory fields is as small as the law allows law. Most people have cultivated the images of chickens intensely: the long lines of cages are surrounded with an impossible number of chickens. Cows, pigs and turkeys also face the same treatment. These animals are kept in limited places for their whole life. Instead of curing diseases, many people are given regular medicines including GM food, and antibiotics. Excessive use of antibiotics is considered to be a major contributor to significant growth in antibiotic-resistant bacteria.

Intensive crop depends on the chemicals to accelerate growth and increase the yield. Fertilizers, insecticides, herbs; Rapid farming crops are treated with all these. It pollutes the environment, as well as potentially contaminating your food.

We never use intensive farming practices. In the form of organic farmers, livestock and land respect is in the heart of what we do. Take a look at our range of boxes for the best seasonal selections we have selected, or browse our full range of fruits and veg or organic meats.

(i) Intensive subsistence farming is practiced in areas of high population pressure on the ground. In this type of farming, agricultural production has increased using biochemical input and high dose of better agricultural input.

(ii) Features of intensive farming:

(A) High yielding variety (HYV) seeds and modern chemical input and irrigation are used for the increase in production.

(B) The yield per hectare is very high.

(C) More than one crop is cultivated during one year.
