Inverse proportion occurs when one value increases and the other decreases. For example, more workers on a job would reduce the time to complete the task. They are inversely proportional.

Answer:

inverse proportion means when two identities are related to each other and one identity increases with decrease in other Identity and vice versa. Also in mathematical representation if LHS side identity is in numerator then RHS side identity in denominator will be inversely proportional to LHS numerator.

eg 1: pressure= thrust/ area, i.e. with increasing area, pressure decreases. so pressure is inversely proportional to area but directly proportional to thrust i.e. with increasing value of thrust pressure increases.

eg 2: speed= distance/time, i.e. speed is inverse proportion of time and direct proportion of distance.
