Answer:
A cation is a positively charged ion, with fewer electrons than protons, while an anion is negatively charged, with more electrons than protons. Because of their opposite electric charges, cations and anions attract each other and readily form ionic compounds.

An ion is a charged molecule or atom.
There are two types of ions which are anion and cation.
Uses of these ions are some of the followings:-
- Body fluid contains electrolytes, chemicals which, when they dissolve in water, produce charged ions.
- These ions enable the flow of electrical signals through the body.
- Electrolytes play an important role in the body; they regulate the osmotic pressure in cells and help maintain the function of muscle and nerve cells.
