Irrigation is the technique by which crop lands are watered artificially by digging canals or making pipelines from the water sources.
Two methods of irrigation are:

Sprinkler system: In this method, water is supplied using pipes to one or more central locations within the field. Water is allowed to flow under high pressure and gets sprinkles on crops.

Drip system: In this system, water is delivered at or near the roots of plants, drop by drop.

irrigation is the supply of water to land or croops to help growth, typically by means of cannals.
the two methods of irrigation which conserve water are :-
Drip irrigation - it is a system to deliver water directly to a plant's root.
cover crops - planted to protect soil that would otherwise go bare, cover crops reduce weeds, increase soil fertility and organic matter and help prevent erosion and compection.
