The process of watering crop plants in the field at different intervals is called irrigation.

The source of irrigation

* seeds germinate in moist soil only.

* Water is needed for the growth of plants.

* Irrigation provide water to the plants for Thier various activities like transport of food and water , photosynthesis, transpiration , etc.

Sprinkler system is perpendicular pipes are laid in the field at regular intervals.these pipes are joined to the main pipelines at one end and have rotating nozzles at the top end.water is pumped in the pipe under pressure.
