Isomorphism is a very general concept that appears in several areas of mathematics. The word derives from the Greek iso, meaning "equal," and morphosis, meaning "to form" or "to shape." Formally, an isomorphism is bijective morphism. Informally, an isomorphism is a map that preserves sets and relations among elements

<b>Hello Dost ☺ _/\_

\bold\red{\underline{\underline{The\:law\:of\:isomorphism:-}}}

→Isomorphous substances form crystals which have same shape and size and can grow in the saturated solution of each other.

→They have a property of forming mixed crystals.

→Isomorphous substances have same composition, i. e., they have same number of atoms arranged similarly.

Examples of isomorphous compounds are:-

(a) K2S04 and K2Cr04

(potassium sulphate and potassium chromate )

(b) ZnS04 ·7H2O and FeS04 ·7H20

(zinc sulphate and ferrous sulphate)
