What is isotops?Explain it

hey frnd....
Isotope are those atoms in which same number of protons but different number of Neutron.
or we can say that same atomic number but different atomic masses.

For example - Carbon 12 and Carbon 14
both have 6 protons
but in carbon 12 number of Neutron is 6 while in carbon 14 number of Neutron is 8.
so they both are Isotope of Carbon.

In nature no. of atoms of some elements have been identified , which have the same atomic no. but different mass numbers. FOr ex take the vase of hyderogen atom , it has 3 atomic species
namely - protium , Deuterium , tritium.The atomic no. of each one is 1 but mass no. 1,2,3. respectively.

carbon and Chlorine are also its example.
