Explanation:

At the equator the high-temperature heats up the atmosphere and the hot air rises creating low pressure at the Earth surface and on the equator this low pressure belt around the earth is called equatorial low pressure belt or intertropical convergence zone. as the air rises it cools and starts ending but it cannot come back from the same path that it took went up .as it reaches the higher layers of atmosphere the air spirits away from the equatorial region towards north and and southern hemisphere.
