Jacobin club was a
political club that came into existence in the aftermath of the French
Revolution.
The Jacobins were members of a French republican organization called the Jacobin Club.
1.It derived its name from the convent of St. Jacob in Paris.
2.Its members were mostly small shopkeepers, artisans like shoemakers,
watch-makers, printers, servants and daily wage workers.
3.Jacobin club belonged mainly to the less prosperous section of society.
4.It was a political club formed to discuss government policies and plan their own forms of action.
