Stars are known as the jewel of the sky.

Jewels are very shiny and they glitter a lot when the light rays are reflected on them.

And, similarly the stars in the sky also glitter ( due to refraction the light rays change their ways and that's why it's looks like they are glittering).

For this reason the stars in the sky ar often compared with the jewels and the stars are widely denoted as the "jewels of the sky".
