The crops are grown with the onset of monsoon and harvested in September - October is known as Kharif Crops..

Kharif crops :

The word "Kharif" means Autumn in Arabic.

The Kharif season start with the arrival of the monsoon in India.

This season is given the name Khari become its harvest with the Autumn season in India.

The kharif crops are sown during June July and harvested by October November around Deepawali.

The crops that need lots of water are sown during the kharif season which is the period of rainfall. Kharif crops include Bajra, Paddy, Maize, pulses, groundnut, Cotton, soybean, sugar caneand turmeric.
