it is the energy which a body possesses by virtue of being in motion.
for example . if a car is at a state of rest it possesses potential energy when it changes it's motion the potential energy converts into kinetic energy

hey mate here is your answer ⤵⤵

Kinetic energy is the energy an object has due to its motion. As long as an object is moving at the same velocity, it will maintain the same kinetic energy. The kinetic energy of an object is calculated from the velocity and the mass of the object.

Kinetic energy is directly proportional to the mass of the object and to the square of its velocity: K.E. = 1/2 m v2. If the mass has units of kilograms and the velocity of meters per second, the kinetic energy has units of kilograms-meters squared per second squared.

hope this will help you✌
