Aqua Regia

                    _ Kingly water ..

Aqua regia is also known as royal water, or nitro-muriatic acid .( kingly water means - imperial (or) royal water  and  It is a liquid composed mostly of water and therefore has been called a “water” ) .

It got it's name (in latin) as royal water because it can dissolve royal metals , such as gold and platinum.

Aqua regia is useful to dissolve gold and platinum and finds application in the extraction and purification of these metals.

This is a corrosive, fuming, volatile mixture of hydrochloric and nitric acids .

This  is also used in some laboratories to clean glassware of organic compounds and metal particles... Ask  me for more info. , if you require !

Hope this may help you !

Kingly water or Royal water or Aqua regia, is a mixture of nitric acid and hydrochloric acid, optimally in a molar ratio of 1:3. It is a yellow-orange fuming liquid, so named by alchemists because it can dissolve noble metal like gold or platinum, but not in all metal.

This is all I know about Aqua Regia.
