Land Degradation is the process in which the biochemical property of of the soil for the land degrades and doesn't remain suitable for plantation or other activities.

When the nutritional value of the soil is degraded or when it comes below the specified level then that land is said to be degraded as it it doesn't remain suitable for any plantation or for the living beings in that area.

Several factors are responsible for this process of Land Degradation and they are :

● use of chemical fertilizers and pesticides over the few decades have led to the decrease in the quality of the soil and now the situation is like what we are eating is not at all healthy for us as the produce that we consume is full of chemicals.

● apart from the chemicals that are used in agricultural sector various other land pollutants have also contributed in land degradation and have degraded the quality of the soil and land.
