Lateral inversion :
The right and left portions of the object appear to be exchanged in the image is called lateral inversion

For example : Our right ear in the mirror seems to be left ear is nothing but lateral inversion

in the image formed by a plane mirror, the left and right side get reversed. this sideways beco lateral change is called lateral inversion
