Life is a characteristic which differs living organisms from nonliving organisms. A living being respire, think etc and most important reproduce which a non living organisms cannot do. Organisms which perform all these actions are said to be alive.

This was the common definition of life but there are a number of theory opinion and views of different people about life.
Some of them say that life is everything some of them say that life is gift given by God etc etc but the biological definition is that which have written on the top.
