Limbic system:

 A ring of structures on inner side of cerebrum and floor of diencephalon constitutes the limbic system.

 Some of the neural structures of limbic system are hippocampus and amygdala.

 Limbic system is commonly known as “emotional brain” because it plays an important role in regulation of sexual behavior and expression of emotional reactions like excitement, pleasure, rage and fear.
