Conservation of momentum means the initial momentum of both objects will be equal to the final momentum of them after collision.

let 2 objects of mass mA and mB are moving with a velocity of u1 and u2 respectively. then then collide with each other and their velocities changed to v1 and v2. so,

initial momentum of both objects= mAu1 + mBu2

final momentum= mAv1 + mBv2

according to conservation of momentum=

mAu1 + mBu2 = mAv1 + mBv2

Hope this helps

Answer:

Linear momentum :

It is product of mass and velocity of an object.

i.e. p = m v

The SI unit is kg m / sec .

Conservation of linear momentum :

For any collision occurring in an isolated system, momentum is conserved.

m₁ v₁ = m₂ v₂
