Heya friend,

A linear equation in one variable is an equation in which the highest power of the variable is one.

Example : - 2x + 6 = 16

Rules for solving linear equations : -

(1) Add the same number to both sides of equation.

(2) Subtract the same number from both sides of the equation.

(3) Multiply or divide both sides of the equation by the same non - zero number.

(4) Transpose any term of the equation from one side to the other by changing it's sign.

Thanks
