Linear, superficial and cubical are different types of thermal ( heat ) expansions.
Linear Expansion - When heat is supplied to a solid, it’s length starts increasing. This is knows as linear expansion.
Superficial Expansion - When heat is supplied to a solid, it’s area starts increasing. This is known as superficial expansion.
Cubical expansion - When any fluid is heated, it’s volume starts increasing. This is known as cubical expansion.
( I have written very simple definitions just to make you understand, you can replace the words and frame good definitions on your own thank you )
