It is used to detect weather the given substance is acidic or basic

.....


They comes in 2 colours Red and Blue


When red lithmus turns blue then the substance is basic and when it remains red then the substance is acidic


When blue lithmus turns red then the substance is acidic and when it remains the same then it is basic....


So this how we come to know weather the given substance is acidic or basic....
