Bryophytes is divided into three classes:-

1) Liver wort

2) Hornwort

3) Mosses

LIVERWORTS (Hepaticopsida)

→ Bryophytes included in this class have shape lile livet(e.g Marchentia) or flat (e.g Riccia) so, they are known as liverworts.

→ Plantbody of this group is thallus like and dorsiventral .
Rhizoids and scales are present on thallus

→The leafy members (eg Porella) have tiny life like appendages in two rows on the stem like structures.

→ The Sporophyte of liverworts is completely depends on gametophyte.

→ The Sporophyte of liverworts are made up of foot, seta and capsule.
(exception - Riccia Sporophyte is made up of only capsule)

→ True elaters are present in some members of liverworts.
