liverworts belong to Bryophyta .
➡️they generally grow in moist shady habitats such as banks of stream, damp soil , etc .
➡️their plant body is thalloid , dorsiventral and closely appressed to the substrate on which they are attached.
➡️asexual reproduction takes place by fragmentation and formation of gemma cups.
➡️male and female reproductive organs are present on same or different thalli .
