Bovine Spongiform Encephalopathy ( BSE ) , commonly called mad cow disease, is spread by eating contaminated beef. Under an incubator, the patient's brain looks like a sponge i. e. it has holes. It is caused by a protein called prion. The disease was first discovered in U.K. in cattle and no cure has been found yet
