m = v/u or h1/h (h1 is img height, h is obj length)

Magnification of a lens is defined as the ratio of the height of image to the height of object.

LENS FORMULA AND MAGNIFICATION. The lens formula is a mathematical relationship between object distance , image distance and focal length of a spherical lens. The lens formula is written as:- This formula is applicable for both, convex and concave lenses, whether the image formed is real or virtual.Magnification of a lens is defined as the ratio of the height of image to the height of object. ... The power of concave lens is negative while the power of convex lens can be positive.
