When a ball is moving forward with spinning, velocity of the air above the ball is higher and below it is lower. Thus, streamlines get crowded above and rarified below. This difference in velocities results in the pressure difference between upper and lower faces of the ball and there will be an upward force on the ball. This dynamic lift due to spinning is called Magnus effect.
