- Manure is organic matter, mostly derived from animal feces except in the case of green manure, which can be used as organic fertilizer in agriculture. Manures contribute to the fertility of the soil by adding organic matter and nutrients, such as nitrogen, that are utilised by bacteria, fungi and other organisms in the soil.
- Compost is also a type of fertilizer which is of organic origin. It also contains all the nutrients which are there in chemical or synthetic fertilizers. Compost contains several microbes which can help in nitrogen fixation and let the plants get nitrogen via them. So compost is not food for soil, it is feed for plant also.
- Fertiliser is a substance containing the chemical elements that improve growth and productiveness of plants. Fertilizers enhance the natural fertility of the soil or replace the chemical elements taken from the soil by previous crops.
