Marble cancer is the corrosion of statues and buildings made up of marbles by the action of nitric acid or sulphuric acid. It also happens because of acid rain. This rain corrodes the marble monuments by dissolving the calcium and making salt. Yellowing of Taj Mahal is one of the examples of marble cancer.
