Answer:

Martin Luther King, Jr. had a dream that all people would be judged on who each person was as a person and not on the color of that person’s skin. He dreamed we would follow the ideas in the Declaration of Independence that all people are created equal. Dr. King had been fighting the effects of segregation and the Jim Crow laws for years. He became famous with the Montgomery Bus Boycott. Dr. King helped to organize a boycott of the Montgomery city buses. While he didn’t know this boycott would last over a year, the goal was to end the segregation on the buses. With the success of this boycott, Dr. King became the leader of the nonviolent civil rights protest movement. In August 1963, at the March on Washington, Dr. King gave his famous speech sharing his dream of a society that judges people on who they are as people and not on the color of their skin. One goal of the March on Washington was to encourage the passage of the Civil Rights Act. Martin Luther King, Jr. is remembered for many things he did, including his famous "I Have a Dream" speech.
