All the that we see around us are called matter. All the things are made up of matter. Matter exits in three states : - solid , liquid and gaseous. Matter can be classified into two parts : - pure and impure.

Every Indian philoshophers classified matter in the form of five basic elements - the "Panch Tatva" - air , earth , fire , sky and water.

Characteristics of matter :-

● Particles of matter have space between them.

● Particles of matter are continuously moving.

● Particles of matter attract each other.
