When we look around, we see a large number of materials or things I different shapes, sizes and textures. We know that, anything which occupies space and has mass is called matter. For example, chair, eraser, bucket, shirt, spoon, car, train and shoe. We can divide matter into pure substances (elements and compounds) and mixtures.
