Particles vary in size and are very liberating, in case of solid particles of matter the space between them is very less and the barely move and collide each other.

The liquid particles of matter do have quite a space and from time to time they collide or move past each other, and gas particles of matter has the most space and always in movement because of is kinetic energy

All these particles constantly attract each other, and they are in fact always in movement which explains the constant motion of the particles.
