Mazzini was one of the most important philosopher nationalist of the 19th century. He carried the torch of Italian nationalism to every corner of the state.Mazzini established Young Italy in 1831 to spread his message among Italians and to strengthen the spirit of nationalism.Mazzini believed that a popular uprising would create a unified Italy, and would touch off a European-wide revolutionary movement.
