At term approximately 96 percent of all babies are vertex. Breech presentation means buttocks and/or feet first. This is not normal and it's more serious than the baby's head being up instead of down. During your pregnancy, your baby constantly moves in the uterus and may be in any position.

Most babies maximize their cramped quarters by settling in head down, in what's known as a cephalic presentation. But if your baby isbreech, it means he's poised to come out buttocks or feet first. When labor begins at term (37 weeks or later), nearly 97 percent of babies are set to come out head first
