HERE'S THE ANSWER

It is because of reduction in the abilty of crystalline lens to accommodate. In this condition additional plus power is given for near. Whereas Hypermetropia is not age related. It is due to parallel rays of light coming from infinity are focussed behind the Retina with accommodation at rest.
