Thermal pollution is referred to the change in ambient temperature of water due to degradation of water quality by industrial process, sewage waste, agricultural runoff, thermal power plants waste being dumped in water bodies.
Waste undergoes chemical reaction generating heat, which is released partly into the atmosphere and partly into the water body.
