Vascular plants are those plants which contains or possesses vascular bundles - xylem and phloem in them.

In vascular plants, the xylem transport water from root to various parts of the plant body like leaves, shoots, etc.

And the phloem transports food made by the leaves to different parts of the body.

The vascular plants are also known as the tracheophytes.

It is important to know that Pteridophytes were the first plants to possess the vascular bundles.

So we can say that Pteridophytes were the first tracheophytes.
