Acid rain occurs when the sulphur oxide molecules and the other harmful elements present in the air mixed with rain water.

Environment also  gets affected due to acid rain as the rain water that falls on the ground seeps into the soil and harmful elements in it degrades the quality of soil and also have a bad effect on crops.

Historical monuments also gets affected by acid rain as due to this the lose their shine , colour , get wear and tear etc. For ex: Taj Mahal's marble is now turning pale  due to this and pollution .
