An adiabatic wall is a wall or partition separating two systems that does not allow any exchange of heat between them. That is, it is a perfect thermal insulator. The systems separated by an adiabatic wall are said to be thermally isolated, e.g. partitions made from the materials such as plastic, glass wool, wood, etc.
