The nerve cell or the neurons are classified into two groups....


The upper part is called cyton or or soma.The cyton consists of Dentdrites which carry the impulse from the other nerve cell to the axon.

The axon is the lower part of neuron.It takes the impulse carries the impulse from the cyton towards the next neuron.

An axon is a long, slender projection of a nerve cell, or neuron  that conducts electrical impulses away from the neuron's cell body or soma.
