A caste system is a class structure that is determined by birth. Loosely, itmeans that in some societies, if your parents are poor, you're going to be poor, too. Same goes for being rich, if you're a glass-half-full person.

- The caste system in India is one of the most prominent form of social stratification system in the world. It is diverse and filled with different characteristics and people which differentiate them.
- This is the system which primarily divides Hindus into several different castes.
- Caste has played a huge part in laying the groundwork for how an Indian Hindu Family should perform in the society.
- Divided based on structure and societal hierarchy, there are a total of 4 types of castes that are prominent.
- These are Brahmin, Kshatriyas, Vaisya, and Sudra, specifically in this order.
