CIPKO MOMENT.
.....

its a movement againSt destroyed the trees ..

The Chipko movement is an environmental protection movement.

This was done to protest the deforestation by the farmers of Uttarakhand state (then part of Uttar Pradesh) of India.

They were opposing deforestation by contractors of state forest department and claiming their traditional rights on them.

This movement started in 1973 in Chamoli district of Uttar Pradesh. Within a decade it spread throughout the entire Uttarakhand region.

One of the main things of the Chipko movement was that the women took part in a large number.

In 1973, the movement started in the eyes of the famous environmentalist Sunderlal Bahuguna, Chandi Prasad Bhatt and India's Mrs. Gauradevi:

Slogan of 'Chipko Movement' -

What are the benefits of forest, soil, water and bay
Soil, water and air, living grounds
In the year 1987, this movement was awarded by the right livelihood award.
