Simply a chromosome is an organized structure of DNA and protein found in cells. It is a single piece of coiled DNA containing many genes. These are considered to be the vehicles of heredity as they carry genes.

Types of chromosomes are---

*Metacentric: The centromere is exactly in the middle of the chromosome forming two equal arms.

*Sub-metacentric: The centromere appears to one arm of the chromosome forming two arms of unequal length.

*Acrocentric: The centromere is located very close to one of its ends forming one short arm and one very long arm.

*Telocentric: The centromere is located at one end of the single arm.

I hope helps you
