Circle :

A circle is a traced point by moving on a plane in such a way that its distance from a fixed point on the plane remains constant. Hence, a circle consists of only those points of a plane which are fixed distance from a point on the plane. This point is called the center of the circle.

The distance of the moving point from the fixed point on the plane is the radius of the circle. A line segment joining any two points on a circle is called a chord of a circle. A chord passes through the center of the circle is called diameter. The length of the diameter = 2 × radius.

The linear measure of the boundary (often called the perimeter.) of the interior of a circle is called its circumference.  The end of a diameter divides a circle into two equal parts, each of which is called semicircle. The region enclosed by an arc and the corresponding chord is called a segment. Any chord divides a circular region into segments. The smaller one is called the major segment.
