Circular Motion:-

When an object moves on a circular path, the object's motion is called circular motion. And if object moves at the same speed, then its speed is called uniform circular motion.

Examples of circular motion:-

  • A turning wheel
  • the earth orbiting the sun
  • movement of ball on a string

The homogeneous circular motion is a fast speed because the direction of velocity changes at each point. Just like the bodies moving on a straight lines, same moving bodies in circular motion have velocity, position and acceleration.

In a circular motion of ball on a string:-

  • the direction of velocity changes at every point,
  • velocity and acceleration are always perpendicular
  • and here, the circular motion is a kind of accelerated motion even if the speed of the body remains constant.

CIRCULAR MOTION DEFINITION

  • Circular motion is a movement of an object along the circumference of a circle or rotation along a circular path. So the object's velocity vector is constantly changing direction, the moving object is undergoing acceleration by a centripetal force in the direction of the center of rotation.

Examples :- Earth moving around the Sun, Moving Tyres etc....

THERE ARE 2 TYPES OF CIRCULAR MOTION, THEY ARE :-

  1. Uniform Circular Motion
  2. Non - Uniform Circular Motion
