Answer:

Fertilization is the fusion of haploid gametes, egg and sperm, to form the diploid zygote. Note though there can be subtle differences in the fertilization process which occurs naturally within the body or through reproductive technologies outside the body, the overall product in both cases is a diplod zygote.

Answer:

Fertilisation is the process of fusion of the male gamete sperm and the female gamete ova.

There are two types of fertilisation:

  • Internal Fertilisation
  • External Fertilisation

Internal Fertilisation:-

In Internal Fertilisation, the gametes fuse in the female body.

Example:- Mammals, Reptiles, etc.

The further development of the zygote takes place in the body of the female.

External Fertilisation:-

  • In External Fertilisation, the gametes fuse outside the body of female or in the external environment.

Example:- Algae, Fish, Amphibians, etc.

  • The development of the zygote tales place outside the body of female or in the External environment itself.
