⭐ Formal letters are those which contain the following components :

Date, inside address (including name and title of addressee, company or organization, complete postal address)

reference to subject of letter (but not required),

formal salutation (Director Sweeny, Senator Gonzo)

Body of letter

Closing (Yours truly)

Signature block (your full name, title, company name [unless on letterhead])

Notation of any attachments (number of them) or enclosures

Tenor or tone of letter should be formal, not chatty. Limit to two or three SHORT paragraphs, each with two or three sentences. Be succinct, write with brevity.

Make the letter interesting and compelling by stating exactly why you are writing and your request for the specific action to be taken by the addressee.
