Function Group :- They are structural units in organic chemistry which are defined by specific binding arrangements.... functional groups are specific substituents or moieties within molecules that are responsible for the characteristic chemical reactions of those molecules.

examples are :-
1). COOH ( carboxylic acid )
2). OH ( Alcohol)
3). C = O ( carboxyl group )
etc.

Answer:

Function group :

Function groups are groups of atoms which makes carbon compound

reactive and decide its properties.

Some important Function group are:

Halo                 [ Cl , Br , I ]

Alcohol           [ - OH ]

Aldehyde        [ - CHO  ]

Ketone              [ CO  ]

Carboxylic Acid    [ - COOH ]

Example :

CH₃CHO   and  C₂H₅COOH

In these two compound :

Aldehyde and Carboxylic Acid  Function group present respectively .
